The programme provides a holistic approach to man-made and natural disasters and offers timely response countrywide for immediate relief and long term recovery. MRCS responds to disasters mostly caused by floods, hailstorms, cholera, drought and population movement (refugee and tracing services).

The response includes provision of shelter and other basic survival needs to the affected. In addition to responding to such disasters, the society carries out livelihood recovery activities like Food Security, Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation.
