Malawi Red Cross Society youth from Likoma division recently, conducted a successful cleaning up campaign as St Peters Hospital, bringing together volunteers and hospital staff to promote a cleaner and healthier environment.
The event aimed at not only to beautify the hospital surroundings but also to raise awareness about the importance of hygiene and sanitation in healthcare settings.

With the support of hospital staff, like Louis Mandowa, the youth volunteers worked tirelessly to collect trash, sweep corridors and tidy up patient areas.

MRCS Chairperson for Likoma Division, Ruth Chirwa expressed her gratitude to the youth volunteers and hospital staff for their dedication to the cause.
"This campaign is a testament to the power of community engagement, and teamwork," she said.
"We are proud to see our youth taking initiatives such as this clean-up campaign to create a cleaner and safer environment for patients and staff alike." Chirwa said.

The event also provided an opportunity for volunteers to learn about the importance of infection control and waste management in healthcare settings.
